Nae Games Weekend: In Conversation with Pipe Major Peter Grant

peter.png

Peter Grant was born and bred in Braemar. He joined the army in 2006, rising through the ranks and becoming the Pipe Major of ‘The Highlanders’, 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, last year. A highly skilled musician, training at the Army School of Bagpipe Music, Peter is also a professional infantry soldier having served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Earlier this year, Pipe Major Grant was in the international spotlight as the lone piper playing the lament at the funeral of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.
He will be joined on stage in conversation with fellow piper, Fergus Mutch, who will chat to him about his life and experience leading up to this momentous occasion, peppered with some tunes on the pipes.
