Research scientist and distiller Dr. Marian Bruce from Highland Boundary takes us on a romp through the past from the Classical world, through Medieval Europe to the modern day, tracking the history and development of gin and other botanical spirits and tracing their origin from medicines.  She will cover the cultural landscape of distilled spirits, link them with historic events that shaped Scotland and bring them right up to date with Highland Boundary’s innovation in natural flavour and new distilling techniques.
