The Braemar Literary Festival 2024, staged by The Fife Arms in collaboration with The Queen’s Reading Room, will take place from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd September and features renowned novelists, historians, artists, food writers and actors in celebration of the written and spoken word and the creative use of text across all artforms.
If you missed the 'Celebration of Christmas' concert on Saturday 9th December or would like to watch it again we are asking for a small donation to receive a professional recording of the concert featuring Bon-Accord Silver Band, Nadine Ralston, Aberdeen University Chapel Choir and children from Braemar Primary School.

Braemar Folk Festival returns with packed mainstage concerts in the atmospheric surrounds of St Margaret’s, while cosy venues throughout this quintessential highland village come alive with foot-stomping jam sessions, bespoke workshops and informal acoustic sets.
Established in 2022 in collaboration with HM the Queen's ‘Reading Room’ – a worldwide network of literary communities – we are delighted to announce the grand return of the Braemar Literary Festival for its second year.
The Braemar Folk Festival is back with headliners including Dougie MacLean OBE, Michael McGoldrick, John McCusker and John Doyle, BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2022 Eryn Rae and Northern Ireland Music Awards ‘Best Album’ winner, Joshua Burnside.
Research scientist and distiller Dr. Marian Bruce from Highland Boundary takes us on a romp through the past from the Classical world, through Medieval Europe to the modern day, tracking the history and development of gin and other botanical spirits and tracing their origin from medicines.
Sylvia Sim’s work takes inspiration from her surrounding landscape. Her work – oil paintings, sculptures and prints – explores the importance of connecting with nature.
Shortlisted for ‘Best Album of the Year’ 2020, amongst others, Project Smok have blasted onto the Scottish neo traditional scene and are fast becoming known for seamlessly blending trad music with contemporary new-age pop influences.
