Amongst the Trees

‘Amongst the Trees’ is a series of creative and collaborative events that explore our co-existence with trees. The fragility of our environment and ecological issues will be discussed alongside considering the positive impact trees have on our wellbeing. Creatives from different disciplines invite us to look closely at our surroundings and see our precious trees and forests in new ways, explore and express their beauty and listen to the stories that they have to tell.

Learn to Weave a Simple Band with Coo Hill Studio

Inspired by the colours and patterns of bark on our beautiful birch trees, we will learn to weave simple bands using natural fibres such as wool, linen and cotton yarns. We will use simple wooden heddles and weaving tools to learn about warp faced weaving and all tools, materials and instruction will be provided. If the weather is nice, we might even take our weaving outside and create the tension for our weaving the traditional way... using a tree!

Playing with nature and making with our hands have both been shown to be soothing and wonderful for our wellbeing... let's do both!
