Carrie Fertig is an interdisciplinary artist and maker based in Aberdeenshire. She returns September 12th-18th for a week of Sublime workshops and early holiday shopping.
Following its successful launch in May 2025, this thought – provoking exhibition will be hosted by St. Margaret's Braemar. All the works in the exhibition are from designers and artists based in the Cairngorms National Park and each artist offers a single sentence pledge connected to their own practice or process. The Gallery will be open daily from 10 am till 5pm, Friday 24 – Monday 27 October.
Carrie Fertig is delighted to be participating in North East Open Studios at St. Margaret's Saturday 13th - Sunday 21st September, 2025. Carrie is an interdisciplinary artist working in performance, video, sculpture, and installation and also a metalsmith and maker in flameworked glass, the latter often getting incorporated into her performances and videos.
‘Amongst the Trees’ is a series of creative and collaborative events that explore our co-existence with trees. The fragility of our environment and ecological issues will be discussed alongside considering the positive impact trees have on our wellbeing. Creatives from different disciplines invite us to look closely at our surroundings and see our precious trees and forests in new ways, explore and express their beauty and listen to the stories that they have to tell.
Three German aeronauts, members of the Bitterfeld flying club, were blown across the North Sea during a storm and landed near Claydykes Farm on the B9119 road through Tornaveen.
